Cohort

Photo tips

How your data is handled

This prototype checks a Georgian ID card or passport against a selfie, entirely on Cohort's own server. It is not Cohort's live verification and it changes nothing on any Cohort account.

What is processed

  • Photos of your document and three selfie frames from your camera.
  • From the document: personal number, date of birth, name, document number and expiry date.
  • A face comparison between the document photo and the selfie, and a check that the selfie is of a real person rather than a photo or screen.

How long it is kept

  • Images are held in temporary memory, never on disk. They are deleted as soon as the check finishes, or after 10 minutes if it is never submitted.
  • The result is shown on this page for 5 minutes, then deleted unless it is kept for a reviewer.
  • Nothing is written to Cohort's database or sent to Didit.

Who may take part

Use only your own document, or test material whose owner has agreed in writing. Do not use this with anyone under 18.

You can request deletion through Cohort.

Label this test

Saying who was in this test, and whether it was a deliberate attack, is what tunes the face models and the camera and document checks. Saves only the kind of test, the two names, the scores and outcomes, timings and your note. No photos, personal numbers or dates.

What the choices cannot say, like "document blurry on purpose". No personal numbers or dates.

A name, or a code like P01. Write each person the same way every time: the same name twice means the same person.

What this result does not prove

The prototype reads the document and compares faces. It does not check whether the document is genuine, and a valid machine-readable zone is not proof of authenticity. It cannot detect an image fed in instead of a camera.
